You can buy one here, and fix it into one of the cabinets that you have in your house. Consider though the cabinet dimensions. It shall be able to accommodate both the lift and the TV-set. Also, the material from which the cabinet is made shall be strong enough to support the system and the device. If it isn’t but you still consider the installation, reinforce the walls and the bottom of the cabinet.

How to Choose a TV Lift for Your Installation

TV Lift for Your InstallationChoosing the correct TV lift is one of the pre-requisites of your success. Thus, take it seriously. It is a must to check the following parameters:

  • The lifting power of your item: the bigger and heavier the TV-set it, the more powerful lift you need. Ask for help from a specialist if needed.
  • The stroke length: the lift shall be able to lift your TV-set above the cabinet top and to hide it completely in the furniture piece.
  • Noise level generation: you don’t want your TV lift to be too loud, do you? However, if it doesn’t matter to you, you can just ignore this feature.

If you believe that some other features might be important, check them, too. TV lifts aren’t the cheapest items. Thus, choose one that complies with all your requirements.

Installation Procedures

TV Lift installationNow, when the choice is made, you can move to the lift installation. Usually, the system comes with all the holes pre-drilled. All the needed screws and blots are included, too. Thus, you need to install it into the cabinet, and to fix the TV-set on it.

The cabinet will need to be prepared for the installation. We believe you have chosen the furniture piece that is big enough to place a TV with the lift inside. Now, make an opening in the cabinet top. It shall be long and wide enough to let the TV-set pass freely.

Further, fix the lift on the cabinet bottom. If you have purchased one for a wall installation, you can fix it on the back wall of the cabinet. Make sure that such an installation can support the lift and TV weight. If you doubt, reinforce the wall.

Now, when the lift is fixed, install the TV set. Before tightening the screws, test it. You might still need to make some adjustments. Once it moves smoothly and can pass through the opening effortlessly, tighten the screws.

If your TV-set is big, the opening in the cabinet top is big, too. For aesthetics reasons, you might want to close it when the TV-set is hidden in the cabinet. If so, install a cap on hinges. When the TV-set is lifted, the cap is open. When the device is hidden, the cap closes.

As you can see, the entire procedure doesn’t require specific skills or knowledge. Some tools might be needed to cut out the opening. But other than that, everything comes ready-to-install.
