We often spend a lot of money on buying new curtains, bed sheets and linens for the house. When it gets old, most of the time we either throw it out or cut it into small pieces. Instead of throwing it or shredding it to pieces, you can in fact reuse the same sheets by making them as good as new.  Before we get down to a few ideas on how we can do this, let us look at the basic things that one should consider.

To give it a multi colored look, use a twine or thread and tie the bed sheet accordingly.

If you plan to use your old bed sheet as a curtain then one of the best ways to do this is by taking into consideration the length that you need. When considering this option you can surely get your hands on some nice embroidery. Since this is smallest size, embroidery work will give your old bed sheet a very beautiful touch. You can enhance the look by adding pom poms, frills, and lace on the borders, small sized mirrors and even beads or pearls.

Making cushion or cushion covers from old bed sheets

If you plan to make cushions using your old bed sheets then you are at the liberty of choosing the size that you want. For the stuffing, you can consider beans or organic fillings. For the covers, the best way to go about is to leave out the edges of the bed sheet and use the original print if the color has not faded very badly. In case you have used fabric dye, then you can consider nice embroidery or even design it with handicraft items. For the borders, use the bead strings, tussles etc.

Making a wall hanging

When you are planning to make a wall hanging, you have to ensure that you have a solid support behind. Using cardboard paper is one of the best options that you can consider. If you do not want it to be seen, then you can cover the cardboard sheet with a nice plain cloth.
