Plasma, upon its debut, boasted of hi-tech unique features but they were quite expensive and consumed lots of energy but those were the concerns of the past. Good news is that Plasma Display Coalition has rolled out new HDTVs that are anti-global. Certified to meet new Energy Star rating requirements, these new plasmas from the Big Four, consume less energy and do not pick your pockets either.

What’s different? Newer Plasma HDTVs come equipped with burn-in reduction features such as screen-savers or pixel wobbling to shift the pixel on the screen at set intervals. Better yet, these consume less than 208 watts in normal use and only a mere 1-watt while in stand-by mode. Hi-tech plasma TVs that will not burn in and a hole in your pocket is surely the best bet and the call of the times.
