Peter Alwin’s Snail wins Electrolux Design Lab 2010 competition

Peter Alwin is the proud Indian designer who has won the Electrlux design competition with his portable heating and cooking device named Snail. The magnetic induction process based cooking device has the ability to stick on the pot, pan, mug and other such kitchen wares to heat the contents directly. No more conventional cooking is required to warm up the eatables Snail is here to do the job smartly. Powered by a high density sugar crystal battery, it has the ability to convert energy from the sugar thereby heating up a coil to conduct the magnetic induction process to the utensil. Besides this, Snail is endowed with sensors that detect the food type being heated and automatically adjusts the time and temperature. All in all, it’s a simple touch sensitive cooking unit all set to be the part of your kitchens. Congrats Peter!
