Post-modernistic thought has brought us a lot of new perspectives, deconstruction and the resulting subversion being the most prominent among them. When these value systems get implemented in design, you get something like this irreverent set of shelves created by the equally irreverent designer Andreas Hegert. You see, Hegert dwells on rebellion and this creation of his is no different.

By questioning the given hierarchical values of objects, spaces, and surroundings, he makes the floor, walls, ceiling, and lights follow his thought rather than existing rules. Thus we get this extraordinary shelf system with three parts that can be combined in many different ways to make, well, basically anything you like.

The light fixtures that go with the design are made out of powder coated sheet and are fitted with LED’s to create one recessed light for the ceiling or wall, and one free-standing for the floor. It may seem totally anarchist, but then again, that’s the best thing about it!
