Designed by Anders Backe and fabricated by a Denmark-based furniture manufacturer, Karup Partners, Nest/Nido is a multi-functional furniture made out of only Futon mattress. The idea behind was to blend the traditional Japanese design with western requirement of comfort and functionality, which resulted into a magnificent piece of furniture.
The smart versatile design of Nest allows it to be a sofa by day and a bed by night, making it possible to achieve its modernistic purpose yet maintaining that classic appearance. Other than its dynamic nature, the furniture from Karup is relaxing, simple, and has the space-saving efficiency. This is made possible by using only premium-quality Futon mattress.The proof of these remarkable features is highlighted by its sale of about 35,000 pieces across various countries like Germany, France, Switzerland, and Denmark since January 2009.
