Harry Allen is a name that one would usually associate with funky and unique creations. But with his recent endeavor, the artists has somewhat decided to lay back and follow the norm. His Blockade series of furniture was unveiled at the New York Gift Fair and is now being sold here. The Blockade series includes a table and wall-hung shelves. Each one of the pieces is grid-like structures made from laminated wood. Hundreds of 1.5” wooden blocks are hand glued together to create amorphous structures. Forming wonderful geometrical patterns, the table and shelves are truly a joy to behold. The Blockade series is designed to be a part of Umbra’s U+ collection. The price of the furniture is: $1,500 for the table and $200 and $400 for the shelf, small and large respectively. Images of shelves follow after jump.
