We indubitably have oodles of choices available to take home. There are so many choices that we just go confused as to which one to take home or which one can be left out. Taking home the some manufactured product or making one for yourself, which one would you prefer?

Ask me, I would any day prefer DIY project over the ready made stuff. It’s so much fun to experiment with things and when the end product comes out to be exactly what you wanted, it’s just so good feeling of being successful in your endeavor.

Well, let me tell what exactly my article is about. Jan Wante with the aim to build a WiFi radio started his experimenting process and finally succeeded to come up with one. He started with Jeff Keyzer instructions, added a custom wood and metal case, LCD interface, and encoder wheel and the result was simply stunning.

For all those who love listening to radio but fail to do so for the fact that radios are bit to out of your budget or the poor net connection, the cool wooden radio by Jan Wante would be the biggest source of inspiration.

In the endeavor of making the cool radio, Jan searched the net and I stumbled upon www.mightyohm.com. , which gave him stepwise tutorial on it for hacking a wifi router into a wifi radio. If you follow his instructions, you will end up with a working radio, however Jan used his graphical interface for it and own case. Believe me, its lot more fun to build one for yourself!
