Online vs Brick and Mortars: Who Wins?

Online vs Brick and Mortars

There’s an old saying that technology has, is and will continue to revolutionize our lives and our very standard of living. It doesn’t take much, but just imagine how different the lives of people were just 3 decades ago. And then look at how different things were 5 decades ago. You’ll notice that with time, we’ve climbed the ladder of progress and it’s simultaneously made our lives a lot easier and luxurious.

One classic example of how that’s happened is how we shop. It seems not long ago that the rational and perhaps the only way to shop was to actually walk into a physical shop and buy whatever you wanted, maybe have a little bargaining match and so forth. Today, it’s become possible to simply, open your smartphone, go to an online shopping portal, select whatever you want to select and voila, you’ll have everything you wanted delivered to your doorstep. However, there are some areas where that’s not the case.

A survey conducted by TheBathOutlet.com asked respondents whether they’d prefer online or B&M shopping for their home remodeling and some of the answers were surprising. For example, did you know that while people would prefer the online option when buying furniture, they would select a B&M option for kitchen and dining, décor as well as other home fixtures?

So what did the survey find exactly, and how can it help us understand buying preferences? Check out the Infographic below:
