Researchers developed a new sensor to help detect the freshness of food

freshness of food

After taking a place in almost all parts of your home, technology is all set to make its place in your kitchen. German scientists are wholeheartedly working on a device that makes it easier for consumers to estimate the freshness of foods. Developed by researchers at the Fraunhofer Institutes for Molecular Biology and Applied Ecology IME in Schmallenberg and for Physical Measurement Techniques IPM in Freiburg, this little device using metal oxide sensors, checks gas emissions online. The new system based on metal oxide sensors ensure the safety and quality of foods which indeed is reliable, quick and economical too. It’s still a prototype but if it actually makes it into production, it’s surely gonna be a hit!
