Overview

While journeying, we often find ourselves struggling with either stuffing extra clothes in our bag or finding a laundryman. Time has come to put all your worries aside even when you are away from home. Ashley Newland’s inspiration when he was on a trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro has finally materialized in the form ‘Scrubbed Washing Machine bag’, a portable 180g washing machine. The continual cost of cleaning clothes during the journey can be reduced to great extent with this portable washing bag. Hoping to hit the stores after April 2012, you can pre-order this bag at IndieGoGo for US$40 (+$7 shipping outside Australia).

What’s unique?

The Scrubba wash needs only 2-3 liters of water and 2-3 drops of cleaning material like body wash or shampoo to wash the clothes. The cleaning process is quite fast too. After sealing the bag, it should be kept on a hard surface. It will scrub for half a minute and you can then take out the clothes to be hanged for drying.

High Points

The bag weighs only 180 g and is very useful for long trips.

It doesn’t occupy much space unlike the electronic washing machines.

Washing can be done anywhere, from the floor of a house to the top of a mountain.

Less amount of water is needed to wash the clothes, thereby making it extremely effective for deserts and other places where there is a scarcity of water.
