LEDs seem to be the way to go. Regardless of the medium or design, these colored things are becoming ubiquitous. Furniture being no exception to the trend, Jean Louis Frechin’s latest creation, the WaSnake makes judicious use of the LEDs. WaSnake is a shelf that can be bent as per the user’s requirements and fitted anywhere to match the room’s décor. The amazing flexibility of the shelf isn’t the only ace up its sleeve. WaSnake incorporates LED clusters and optic fibers to display stuff like SMS or maybe even RSS feeds. WaSnake made its debut at the recently concluded International Milan Furniture Show. It is divided into segments made of wood and the flexibility is provided by an elastomer material. Apart from test messages, WaSnake is equally suited to display any other type of digital content such as stock ticker, home address or even pretty basic animations. The shelf also incorporates controls to change the display type. Obviously with those credentials, it is vut implied that WaSnake is not into full-fledged production as yet. Perhaps sometime in the near future it will.
