What changes color? A chameleon? Color-changing bulbs, maybe but have you heard of color changing textile? Jordy Rooijakkers, a budding designer has designed a sequel to his earlier project “Sqeeze Light”, which was a luminous textile. The sequel named as Sqeeze Light 2.0, is not only luminous but it also is interactive – that is, it changes color. Imagine that! Born out of an internship project at EE Labels, Heeze(The Netherlands), the Squeeze 2.0 is a “combination of a textile sensor and actuator at the same place”, as the designer puts it. The mechanism is very simple – the woven textile changes color when you press it.
The designer has made an interactive lamp out of the textile as shown in the video.
I really love the way it lits up when you press it. I think this is an extremely cool product. What would you make out of it? I think I would love to own the lamp.
