Yes, Mary Hackney a student at Coventry University has redesigned the good old iron, with an aim to make it more men friendly in terms of its design and looks.
The new version made my Mary will feature simpler dials, bigger handles to adjust the big hands of men and “go faster stripes” to bring more men to do this not so interesting household job.
Mary wants to give an ordinary iron the status of a gadget just like those expensive kettles and sleek iPods.
The icing on the cake, is the scanning device that the iron features, one that’s sure to entice men for the techno effect that it’s gonna add to the iron. This scanner will detect the texture of the fabric, adjust the heat levels, and steam controls automatically. I think a feature like this will be welcomed by women too, why leave them crying over their burnt clothes.
The attempt seems to be an innovative one…if not anything else; it will at least drive men to laundry, which they hate to look at.
