Kallisti by Krizarl Calanglang is a circular bed made from molded fiber glass and is finished in chromed gold paint. Design was completed in November 2009. The inspiration for this design is the Apple of Discord, a golden apple inscribed Kallisti meaning “To the Fairest One” which provokes the three goddesses Hera, Athena and Aphrodite to fight over who gets the apple which causes the Trojan War. The whole idea is to have a bed that looks very elegant and fresh, but would have hidden meanings or purpose other than being a just a simple bed. The Kallisti bed can be disguised as just a very simple, minimalist type of bed. The real meaning behind Kallisti is, it is a circular bed that indicates or stimulates intimacy and can provide privacy without enclosing the user too much, at the same time providing an ample amount of light to enter inside.
