KHYBER: Chair tucked in the table!

Khyber by Amanda Gall

With ever-increasing urbanization, residential spaces in urban settings are getting smaller and smaller while number of people who share the space is increasing day-by-day. In such a scenario, the furniture pieces that are modern, savvy, multipurpose, and above all acquire minimum space are well appreciated by the users. KHYBER, a chair cum table, is one such product that instantly catches your attention because of its contemporary looks, vibrant color scheme, and multipurpose utility value.

Designer Amanda Gall is an industrial design graduate and has a natural talent for making creative and multipurpose pieces of furniture which go well with urban set ups. KHYBER was made in response to the behest of Wood Council of Canada to promote Canadian hardwood by creating products which are user-friendly and multipurpose and which appeal the masses. The designer team at Amanda’s studio did a thorough brainstorming and came up with the idea to make a multifunctional piece of furniture suitable for small spaces of living.

Thus, the idea of KHYBER was born and the form it finally took was that of a modular club chair which also transforms into a side table. The furniture is most suitable for kid’s room and for study purpose. Children or for that matter any student can comfortably read on the chair with two wide side arms and then can wind up the chair to make it a side table and can put bag, books and other things on it.

The florescent green color of chair and natural wooden color makes it a striking piece of contrasts. You will always feel proud of this multifunctional furniture neatly tucked in the small corner of the room. The chair is available on Behance Network, a site which promotes out-of-the-box thinking inspired furniture by budding designers.
