LuminAR is not a simple lamp…It’s a living robotic assistant!

As always the MIT Media Lab is here to leave us amazed. Its latest invention is from Natan Linder. Mimicking the quirky looking desktop lamp, LuminAR is a personal computer, desktop helper robot and research assistant; all in one! This desk lamp of the can do some wondrous things. When plugged into a robotic arm, it starts searching out an uncluttered space on your desktop and project on using a teeny tiny pico projector, help you open your e-mail on the left and your website on the right. The robotic lamp beams the lets you interact with the images thereby enabling you perform actions such as tapping and typing. Using gestures, the user can command the lamp to perform simple tasks. A simple swipe of hand enables the lamp to move to the side. The lamp using a webcam keeps a check on the user’s activity and movements. In short its an interactive robot that besides illuminating up your desktop will help tech savvys stay connected!
