For Tord Boontje and Bisazza nature is once again the inspiration. They’ve unveiled the new nature-inspired mosaic patterns entitled ‘Summer Trees’, ‘Dark Waters’ and ‘Night Vision’! Incredibly unique mosaic patterns and furniture pieces are sure to take you by surprise!
When asked about the designs, Boontje said:
We use digital images from cameras and video to capture moments of life and these become our memories. The collection of mosaic for Bisazza is based on the idea of using images that trigger memories when you look at them. A pattern of sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees can remind you of a nice summer day, a picnic in the park or daydreaming in the back of a car and watching the landscape go by.
What’s different? Making up pixelated fleeting memories, each of the three pieces of home furniture expresses a romantic and poetic style, inspired by the shapes and colors of nature. The pieces have a large surface area and an innovative sliding mechanism that opens the intricate volume inside makes them all the more unique. Personally, I love the sliding mechanism, you wouldn’t necessarily guess that there are drawers and shelves and goodies hidden within them! I’d surely love to have one of these as a side table or behind the couch and the coffee table that’s filled with spirits is just breathtaking as well…ain’t it?
Take a look at all three pieces from various angles in the images pinned below.
