Nils Finne’s ‘leggy’ TIND End Table

Tind end Table

How do you tell if a country is no longer reeling under a financial slump? When their tables start to get more legs than the required four! The TIND End Table by Seattle, Washington-based furniture designer Nils Finne may look like it’s lugging along a few more limbs than really necessary but that hardly takes anything away from the beauty of the ruggedly handsome piece.

Designed to preserve the sustainable sensibilities of its components, the end table comes with a recycled steel top and fourteen, yes fourteen, bamboo legs that have been carbonized to give them the extra edge. The bamboo used in the legs has been heated to give it the strong and rich caramel tint. The legs have been cut to peek tantalizingly through the surface of the tabletop and give the top a unique and interesting texture.

The jaded surface top features geometric water jet-cuts that lend the table a surprisingly innovative texture. It doesn’t make it ideal for keeping little things like pins and pens on top of it, but what’s a little discomfort when it comes to fashionable pieces like this.
