Park yourself on this unique Rope Sofa

Rope Sofa

Do you know what the big, bad, ugly, heartless hangmen from medieval times did on their days off? Apparently they spun out all the leftover rope into handy furniture to take home to the missus and the kids! Nah, I’m just kidding. But this quaint Rope Sofa by Alex Fabrizio could inspire all kinds of whacky stories that you can tell your friends when you throw that fancy soiree.

The incredible sofa is actually created with a good length of recovered old nautical rope acquired from a shipyard in Providence, Rhode Island and gets its incredible shape from the multiple fold figure-eight knot or what we simply know as the traditional sailor’s knot.

Crafty Rope Sofa

The seat, which looks prickly and threadbare, is actually quite comfortable to sit on as the rope has weathered from use and contact with water which possibly took out all the prickliness of the fibers lending it softer and more grainy. For now the sofa is a standalone but we do hope the artist provides a glass top table to go with it otherwise it would be quite a bleep to make it not clash with everything else normally found in regular living rooms.
