A Day Made of Glass is a short film produced by Corning Incorporated, a world-leading glass manufacturer company. As you watch the film, you wonder if ordinary glass has so much of use, why glass manufacturers do not exploit it to its full use today! This film portrays an ordinary day in which people use ultra-modern devices, helped by special glasses.

A Day Made of Glass shows the “vision of tomorrow” wherein people use the technology to communicate with each other and perform their day-to-day tasks in a high-tech scenario. Through this film, Corning demonstrates that our home could soon be converted into a virtual screen where we could perform all our tasks including cooking, shopping, talking, driving and more, through a glass interface.

In the movie, Corning further demonstrates that every device in your home and outside could easily be connected wirelessly so that they could communicate in real time through a glass medium. Imagine a scenario where your name will be displayed with a welcoming note at the entrance of a shop as soon as you enter it! The scope of this glass technology is endless. This technique has also helped scientists to develop the lens of the Hubble Space Telescope and the glass for Edison’s light bulb.

Corning is rightly called as a futuristic glass manufacturer. To change the future, we have to discover more. A Day Made of Glass is a significant step toward achieving that goal.
