World’s thinnest TV from Sharp: ACQUOS X

I was always fascinated by flat-screen television sets. Recently, Sharp has unveiled the thinnest LCD TV sets of the world under the name of Sharp ACQUOS X. At an unbelievable width of merely 1.35 inches (see the picture above), all the models of this series have full high definition resolution at 37, 42 and 47 inches. The tuner facility and other related input/output connections are available in a separate box that is connected to the television panel via a single cable. This exclusive arrangement has indeed saved a lot of space and made the setting more compact and thinner. Other additional features of this consumer product include 15000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for these LCDs, 450 cd/m2 brightness, double-speed 120 Hz refresh rate and a viewing angle of 176 degree. The smooth tone variation and effective color processing are controlled by a 12-bit processor. The system has other useful attributes such as 3 HDMI inputs, analog and digital tuners, 1-bit digital amplifier and an integrated 8-speaker sound system, which are just the right thing for any contemporary home.

The handy 46-inch television set will simply weigh 46 pounds! The 37-inch model is priced at $3290, whereas the 42-inch and 46-inch variants cost $4050 and $4510 respectively. I feel at the given prices, the contemporary, stylish and handy television sets are quite a bargain. This new range of TV sets will be introduced in the Japanese markets in March, 2008 and the launch is surely to witness a grand success.
