Esteban Design’s Hill Sofa doubles up as a handy day bed

HILL SOFA BY ESTEBAN

Designed by Spanish toy artist Jose A. Esteban of Esteban Design, the Hill Sofa is a playful design that matches with almost everything that you would expect in a conventional living room seat. The seat was created for Norway-based retailers Furniture Design Market and was intended to serve both as a day-bed as well as a chaise lounge. Reducing the traditional concept of a sofa to a single padded surface, the unconventional couch draws from traditions of the east where sitting on the floor is a common practice.

The sofa uses a simple low module with a soft elevation reminiscent of foothills to break the eye line on the otherwise plain modules. With each one square meter pad measuring 20 cms in height, the sofa gives users just enough cushioning on any kind of floor. The Hill Sofa is available in three finishes with the basic upholstery being 100 percent, Terylene and the other two being cotton and microfiber. Price for the unique seating is available on request although it ships out from the retailer’s production units in China so it might take a few days for the shipment to reach.
