Designer: Dominic Bromley from the house of Futuros.

Features: You expect your furniture to fulfill its primary purpose effectively. Any function over and above is a bonus. However, along comes something that is so versatile and adaptable that you are at loss as to what to expect from it. AmpLamp is one such concept. AmpLamp is a table lamp that has a speaker neatly embedded in, and for all you know pumping up the volume seems to be its main aim. AmpLamp is attractive and cool and it has enough power up its sleeve as well; 80 watts of stereo sound and a subwoofer to go along. (Wonder how it’ll impact the bulb at the top?) AmpLamp is compatible with any and every audio source that you may own. It also comes with a handy iPod dock/charging cradle so that the user is not required to hunt for different sockets.

What’s Working: AmpLamp looks classy and the layered table lamp design can mesh in with any décor without distorting it. Another innovation is the use of Airsound and NXT technologies to deliver stereo form a single AmpLamp.

Pricing and Availability: AmpLamp is a ‘unique patent pending concept’. Pricing details are therefore unavailiable.
