Calor by Kelvin Akposoe: Heating pad light that keeps a check on energy consumption!

Calor

Calor’ – A heating pad is something which everyone would like to have in their house. It acts as a perfect heating system due to its interesting features which is designed by Kelvin Akposoe, a 3rd year student in Product Design studies. Mostly in the cooler atmospheric regions, heaters play an important role to survive and add the thermal comfort in homes.

For this, different kind of heating systems are available in market for the household uses. From huge radiators to portable heaters, all have some or the other disadvantages attached to it. To list a few, huge radiators are not suitable for small homes and also have an ugly look. A portable heater comes in varied sizes but with the extra cost on electricity bills and serves at higher energy-consumption rate.

Moreover, people are attracted towards the misuse of heaters for producing desired thermal heat but at a fast rate. This not only proves as power consuming and heavy on pockets but it even leaves a large amount of carbon footprints behind its optimum use by the users. This can lead to adverse effect on human health in the future.

So to eradicate this problem and to improvise the addicted habit of users, Kelvin has introduced “Calor” heating pad. Calor not only provides efficient amount of heat to the home but it also stands on efficient use of power consumption. The working behind this portable heating pad is that it absorbs heat directly from the radiators and thereafter it stores the absorbed heat in its thermal material layering.

Therefore, the user can make use of such heat storage to the unheated rooms for short period of time. Thus it will help to heat up the room to the desired level and also it will serve as a help in consuming less power and keeping light on users pocket.
