Doing Winter Décor the Right Way

We have all had that kind of winter, the one where you look around your home and know it is time for a change. Sure, you could call up your real estate agent and tell him to find you a place that is more exciting than this one. With all the fancy real estate management software in their back office they could probably even find you something. But what you really need is a makeover. Not only is it more fun, but it sure is cheaper and easier than moving on.

Color Fixes Many Things

While painting a room a new bright color may sound like work, it can also be life affirming. This is especially true in the winter when we could all use something bright and lively to wake our day up. So if you don’t want to spend big bucks but you want a change this winter why not find a really nice bright color to make that living room sing. Even painting one wall a brighter version of the color you already have could do the trick.

Just Playing Around

If you have kids, you just might want to ask them what the one thing is they would like to add to their bedrooms. You would be surprised what kind of ideas they may come up with, and fun projects that may turn into. As this video will show you, when it comes to redoing a kid’s bedroom you don’t have to spend a ton to make a big change.

Let There Be Light

Do you have a dark house with small windows? How about a home that just never seems to brighten up in the winter no matter what you do? If you said yes to either one of these, I know just the fix! This past winter we added several new lights to our rooms, some of them table lamps or floor lamps and some of them strings of lights. Both of these will help to brighten up a room and take the gloom away. While you are at it, don’t forget to change a few of your reading bulbs to full spectrum lights to chase away the winter blues.

Doing It With Style

So get out there and start thinking winter change. It doesn’t have to mean you toss out your furniture and get new ones. You can start with some extra color, a new accent and some lights to brighten up the day. Whatever it is that you choose to do, you can make it your own. Then post it on social media and inspire all your friends as well.
