Drinking The Music: Mug that creates ripples on the liquid’s surface

Rhythm in a Cup

Music is the best companion while sipping a cup of simmering tea. It totally rejuvenates the senses and leaves people in a blissful state. But, how about combining the two in a single cup? Confused, then read ahead. A designer named Kukil Han has crafted an awe-inspiring mug that will make your eyes do a cartwheel in total amazement. Christened Drinking The Music, the eye-catching mug is a rhythmic creation that produces waves when sound is produced.

Long time ago, almost in the ’80s, special kind of fillers were used in-between two programs. This consisted of sound produced by ceramic bowls, by beating its edges with each hand, which were filled with water. It gave birth to soothing tunes and the magical instrument is called the Jal Tarang. Different levels of water help produce various kinds of tunes and generally a series of water filled ceramic bowls was used. Drinking The Music is reminiscent of that melodious era and helps revive the connection that exists between music and water.

The sleek and dainty creation rests on a charging saucer and is touch sensitive. At times, people unconsciously fiddle with the mug and keep moving their finger near its edge. The volume controls have fetched great inspiration from this and can be adjusted moving the finger on the edge of the eye-catching cup. For turning up the volume rub the edge in a clockwise direction and to turn the volume down simply rub it in an anticlockwise way. The touch button on the surface will help a user to pause or play tunes. Drinking The Music has an LED display that gives the creation a dazzling appearance. Once the mug is filled with the desired liquid and the music is played, circular-shaped wave motions are produced on the surface of the liquid. These waves are a result of vibrations produced by the sound/music. The mug will get recharged when it is placed on the saucer.

Cleaning the cup will come sans any difficulty as the components are already immersed in liquid in the form of tea/coffee. Drinking The Music will not only create ripples inside the mug but also in the world of stylish mugs. So, listen to soothing music while you sip tea and soothe those frazzled nerves.
