Hi-tech home theater offers utmost entertaining experience

The Product:

The magic of the movie theaters lies in its sound system, larger than life visuals and the illusionary space created away from our humdrum of regular life. These factors were essentially difficult to re-create in our home set up for a long time. Working on these limitations Jacek Zaworski has been able to create a nice family entertainment room which has all the features of luxury and the theater combined in one. The theater allows the room to be versatile for different entertainment forms, whether that is a movie, video game or music all in high definition of course. The key factor remains that it should be a room to gather together with friends and family members to enjoy a multimedia experience like no other place in the house.

The Designer:

The idea to replicate the movie theater experience in your home is not a new concept but the dimensions of the barriers in home theaters are stretched to a new milieu with the new hi-tech home theater by Jacek Zaworski, an electronic professional at Chicago–based Procom Enterprises. Zaworski collaborated with interior designer Ingrid Baltasi to recreate the whole experience of the theaters with its tactile sound system and edge-of-the-seat visuals in the comfort of your own home yet avoid the high ticket and snack prices, the annoyingly loud teenagers or screaming kids and pause for bathroom breaks at will.

The Good:

Three-dimensional fiber optic lighting that transforms the ceiling into a star-studded night sky, backs of the eight leather continental chairs that bear the family insignia, the decorative panels on the walls adds to the artistic feel and create a soothing environment. Also, the nine Auralex Sonic Print panels are covered in a printed fabric chosen by the interior designer. Mounted one inch off the wall and lit from behind, the panels function both as wall art and acoustical treatments that enhance the sonic properties of the room.

The Bad:

The two wooden doors that flank the screen play the real spoil sport. Zaworski explains, they may set off the display nicely, but as A/V experts, we would have rather had people enter the theater from the back of the room.

What’s in for me?

Other than installing this award winning 21’ x16’ home theater, Procom has also worked side-by-side with budget, seamlessly integrating an extensive audio/video collection with various other electronic automation needs.
Again for less than the price of a high-end A/V distribution system, Procom has installed a Control4 home automation system allowing operation of the A/V setup and the ability to control light switches, thermostats, security sensors, and surveillance cameras.
