The idea of relaxing after an intense schedule in office is often the prime reason for hunting out that comforting perfect sofa in your home. Catering to this need a set of French designers of the Collectif Dito has come up with the Mawou sofa that is designed as a rug-cum-sofa. It assimilates the concept of a sofa to a rug to form a stimulating piece of furniture.

The sofa is equipped with slim strips of rug that bypass the base of the sofa from the front to the back to provide a unique arty look. The visual treat of the furniture will magnetize the visitors as well as capture the imagination of tired backs in search of liberation.

The sofa is part of the modern and contemporary furniture compilation called Dito from scratch – 2011 and is on exhibit at Grand-Hornu opening on February 2011.

Collectif Dito is a Paris-based collective involving about 12 designers of French Art and Design schools. Dito members include Eric Blondin, Guillaume Delvigne, Pierre-François Brichet, Henry Gagnaire, Joachim Jirou-Najou, Michael Radix, Fabien Leligois, Arnaud Sabatier, and Caroline Ziegler.
