Made in fiberglass, the concept for Transiflow revolves around the idea of furniture being made from a single piece of material. Designed by Cheng Siew Ming, a single sheet of material has been manipulated into a dining table with a table top that folds down to become the table legs without the need for any joints. As a key design element, the table top plane also seems to flow seamlessly into a black hollow in the center, which can be used as a container for a centerpiece. This design has won accolades by bagging the Award of Merit in the Student Category at the Singapore Furniture Design Awards 2010.
