The Woven Series: Eye catching and desirable

Interiors are the best indicators of creativity. No doubt therefore, not just the workplace/home owners keep updating them so do the designers as they keep coming up with something that is in sync with the latest trends. One of the latest trends today is furniture pieces with hand weaved and wrapped structures. Timothy John, a designer has therefore come up with a unique series christened Woven, in which he has designed 2 different types of chairs as well as a grandfather clock around the hand weaving and wrapping techniques.

Basically inspired from a pendant light shade which was made from a steel wire ball, Timothy has attempted to make two different types of chairs: Genius and Mastermind using a similar framework. Using stripes of industrial synthetic felt basically used in lining nautical vessels, Timothy wove these around a steel framework; the result being a unique eye catching design. The chair resulting from this adventure of his is named Genius. In his subsequent design which he christened as Mastermind, Timothy left the steel wire framework semi-exposed, and only partially covered the remaining part with synthetic felt stripes. This resultant design was therefore a chair that exuded a raw feel with its deconstructed look.

A similar look was imparted to a Grandfather clock as well with the same material and technique. And just as it was with the chairs, the clock, christened Deviant too looked seemingly different as compared to its initial staid look. All in all, the chairs and the clock appear as if they were a part of a large designer collection which definitely quite some viewers would want to adorn their homes.
