By Royal Appointment: The Unique ‘Color Responsive’ Chairs

By Royal Appointment is a unique set of responsive chairs by Moritz Waldemeyer. There is an RGB color sensor in the back of the chair, which reads the color of the clothing, of the person seated on it.

The result? The LED’s on the back of the chair steadily take the color of the sitter. The person sitting on the chair receives a personal halo of light, quite similar to the one we see on the images of religious idols and sovereigns.

The chairs bring to mind the ancient thrones of rulers, flaunted with a huge bedecked back. This particular chair has holes at the back instead of those jewels, but the effect is quite similar! The holes slowly increase in size, making the chair look flimsy and ready to dissolve into the air.
It is a strange, yet captivating product, and one can just stare at it with a feeling of awe!
