CES 2010: Android now takes over your microwave and washing machines

nim touch module

When Google designed Android, no one could have even imagined that it will be at some time integrated in your home appliances. At CES, Touch Revolution showcased Android powered concept microwave and washing machine. The firm has a very intelligent product called NIM1000 Touch Module (Android-powered), which can be integrated by an OEM into a a range of products to add gesture-based touch controls.

This module comes with endless possibilities, such as loading Pandora on the microwave and playing a bit of Jason Mraz through a pair of built-in speakers. Sounds pretty good and we hope to see a wide range of home appliances running Android on the shelves very soon.
