Decorating a home may not be rocket science but getting it
right is extremely hard. For the average lazy decorator, this usually comprises
of clipping some flowers from the backyard and sticking them in a vase. But if
you want to make your home look like you’ve made an effort, you can use the following
DIY vase arrangement ideas to create stunning effects.
1. Candles and
pebbles
You’ll need: pebbles
of different shapes and colors, long and wide vases, candles
Difficulty level:
super easy
Method: place pebbles at the bottom the vases and add candles on
top.
2. A two flower bright
scheme
You’ll need: jelly
beads, a long, flexible stemmed flower and a large bloom, round glass vases
Difficulty level:
medium
Method: soak and prepare
jelly beads and add them to the bottom of the vase. Twist the long stemmed
flower gently and allow it to sit in the vase. Add the large bloom in the middle.
3. Colored sands
You’ll need:
colored sands in complementary colors, a spoon, and tall slender glass vases
Difficulty level:
medium
Method: pour
layers of colored sands into the vases using the spoon. We marked it hard
because it requires a lot of patience and a steady hand to get right.
4. Suspended flowers
You’ll need: stems
of flowers like jasmine, tall slender glass vases, water, white pebbles, and
floating candles
Difficulty level:
very easy
Method: place a
few pebbles at the bottom of the vases. Fill the bases with water and put the
flower stems in. top of the vases with floating candles.
5. Floating flowers
You’ll need:
large bright flowers with the stems clipped off, large goblet like glass vases,
water
Difficulty level:
very easy
Method: add just
a little water to the vases and slowly insert the flowers into them. Remember
not to crush the petals in the process.
6. Lemons and tulips
You’ll need: tall
glass vases, lemons, water and tulips
Difficulty level:
easy
Method: pour
water in the vases and add the sliced lemons. Stick long stemmed tulips into the
vase.
7. Jell-o vase
arrangements
You’ll need:
glass vases, jell-o, flowers
Difficulty level:
hard
Method: begin with cooking the gelatin in the same color as
your flowers. When cooked, the gelatin needs to be poured into the vases after
which the flowers would be tucked in to let them set in.
