Foster Lomas, a firm in London was asked to build a home that would not only cost low, but would also be a low carbon building on a steep site that was prone to land slipping. Taking in consideration various criteria led in front of them, they collaborated with environmental consultants, eb7 and engineers, Webb Yates. This collaboration resulted in 200m² minimal impact piled light weight timber frame that would reduce the land slippage risks. This design has won the permission to be built on the south coast of Kent and is due to be completed in 2010. When completed, it is sure to achieve minimum level 3 of the code for sustainability.
