Jackrabbit Wash by Ettore Design makes living in Mojave Desert look good

Led by architect Aaron D’Innocenzo boutique-scale design
studio Ettore Design has transformed itself into a thoroughly modern and
innovative construction company. The company has always been something of a
specialist in the sale, construction and design of modern furniture and homes
though their latest completed project is a sight to behold indeed.

Dubbed the Jackrabbit Wash, the project is located in near
Joshua Tree in the middle of Mojave Desert in California and its sparse
surroundings have dictated the design of the home immensely.

The entire exterior
of the home is developed to combat the harsh climate of the region while floor
to ceiling glass windows provide a “bringing the outside in” experience to
bedrooms.

A small pool outdoors provides a place for residents to lounge out in
the warm weather while enjoying the solitude that only the desert landscape
could bring.

Developed to be sustainable home, the entire project adopted
a construction methodology that would allow the home to act like an intrinsic
part of the desert rather than stick out like a sore thumb in it.

Jackrabbit
Wash is designed to bypass traditional HVAC systems and heat and cool itself. Emerging
technologies were used in the project along with passive solar principals and architectural
production possibilities.

This would allow any future inhabitants of the home to be able
to live off the grid if needed.

The home has all the facilities it needs to be thoroughly modern
in every aspect though its eco friendliness makes it stand apart from any
similarly made home located in the city.

The home is designed to take advantage
of the abundant sunlight in the desert as well as the drier air that puts less
of a strain on the sustainable heating/cooling systems of the home.
