LEDPure: The next gen water purifer

LED Pure

One of the entries in the James Dyson Award is a water purifier called LEDPure which has a capacity the of 0.5 m3 . LEDPure is going to take the water purification methods to a new level and promises to resolve the problems associated with the currently available water purifiers in the market, hence deems fit as an entry to the James Dyson Award by the James Dyson foundation for product and industrial designs. This award is given to the next generation of design engineers with a design that solves a problem.

LED Pure

LEDPure claims to solve the problem of high energy consumption and smaller lives of the UV lamps which will result in cost and energy consumption reduction. The normal purifier has UV lamps with low pressure for the contamination, removal and filtration of water. There are different filters that perform different tasks at various stages of purification leading to the small life span of the UV lamp and a high power consumption.

LED Pure

With LED pure, the UV lamps will be replaced by a high power UV LED, this will reduce the size of the water purifying device along with reducing both the cost and energy consumption. Extensive research and development shows that LEDPure consumes lesser power than the traditional UV lamps. The water purifier with the LEDs work in two phases, first, when the water passes through the tabulator flow, sockets present there distribute the water into thin layers. In the second stage the thin layers of water t pass through the filter where it is treated and disinfected by the ultra violet rays emitted through the high power UV LEDs. The filter is removable and all LEDs are connected into the power of one LEDPure.

LED Pure

This two stage purification ensures high quality of treated water. LEDPure can be installed in the water supply system of the residential buildings and can also be used for aquariums or ponds where regular maintenance of water is a must. Since their invention LEDs have replaced the traditional lamps in almost all possible ways given the reduced power consumption and cost. LEDPure water purifier seems to be a logical step forward.
