Objects for Atheist- An inversion of aesthetic function

objects for atheists
Australian designer Guy Keulemans has come up with the amazing furniture which is a research project about the historical analysis of the influence of religion on aesthetics. The furniture of aesthetic is dubbed as “Objects for Atheist” and the chest of drawers is a result of research. The furniture is designed beautifully by hiding the shelves at the back of the chest of drawers. The furniture can be rotated easily away from the wall to access the hidden bookshelf, or used free-standing as a movable partition.

The furniture is crafted from sustainably harvested bamboo with dovetail joinery and little to no glue or nails. Also the use of copper knobs, polymer rails and steel bearings allow the chest to be moved around easily. Available in two colors- two tone natural and heat compressed bamboo, the furniture presents an inversion of aesthetic function.
