Overview

Designer Cameron Coward has designed this open source coffee table for low income households or for people who simply want to save some money. This table is quite cheap and accessible that turns out to be its most interesting feature.

What’s unique

The design plan of this unique coffee table is quite simple and uncomplicated. This table uses easily available materials and requires minimal tools utilization. Furthermore, this fantastic and cheap coffee table is highly easy to assemble and construct, which doesn’t even require any use of adhesive or fasteners.

High points

Open source coffee table features six interlocking modules, which easily assemble the table. The entire table can be crafted out of a single standard 4’ x 8’ plywood sheet easily available in stores. Circular saw and a router are the only tools it requires to be constructed.

After being easily interlocked, this table can be left unfinished or can be even be varnished or painted in bright hues to make it look more appealing.

Moreover, the same design can be followed with other materials, such as recycled plastics and acrylics to create an open source table.

The fact being it an ‘open source’ coffee table, the schematics can be freely downloaded by the user. The user can purchase the plywood or any material of their choice and can easily construct the table. If the user doesn’t have easy access to the tools and materials, then they could easily buy the pre-cut components from the designer.
