Remote controlled dimmable Propeller LED Lamp

The remote controlled living room lamp lightens up the room it sits or I must stay stands in. Well, the coolest part of the lamp that makes it worth a mention is its techie features. Replacing the 300 watt halogen, the lamp is dimmable, efficient, and remote controlled.

The Parallax Propeller chip helps control a TLC5940 LED driver, the circuit was designed in DipTrace and the PCB was cut with my CNC machine using isolation routing paths output from DipTrace, all these done craftily to furnish a lamp that is ideally fit to sit in the contemporary interiors. The lamp settings can be changed using remote control that eliminates to get up and go to near the socket in which the lamp is plugged in.

The shade of the lamp is made up of a 4′ x 2′ sheet of thin HDPE, the garbage cans from Target, the central column is 1″ PVC from Home Depot, and the ‘caps’ are custom routed 1/2″ UHMW plastic. The end result is brighter than a 100 watt light bulb and another coolest part is that it uses mere 24 watts at full brightness.
