Saint Clair Lamp uses sun to light up your house

Stéphane Maupin designed the Saint Clair lamp keeping in mind the usage of sunlight that we have in so much of abundance. The lamp utilizes several photovaltic cells that are situated under the base of the lamp. When it’s day time you can fix the lamp to the window with the help of the suction pads. And, once the lamp has been charged with the sunlight, all you have to do is attach the light to the wall to use it as a nice looking spotlight.

The designer of the light had won VIA (Valorisation de l’Innovation dans l’Ameublement) project assistance grant, which was used to build the prototype of the lamp, enabling the design to be promoted without paying much attention to the need of funding.
