‘Shade-Requiring Plant Pot’ brings greenery in your rooms

Shade requiring plant pot

Do you love indoor plants and like to plant them in your room to bring the nature’s vividness in your room? Then the Shade – Requiring Plant Pot will be of interest for you. The Shade – Requiring Plant Pot (SRPP) is the creation of architect and designer Kerry JiaYi Lin.

Kerry is a Master of Design science from the University of Sydney and has a lot of interest in interior designing with digital technology.

The SSRP helps nurture the plant by providing it a humid atmosphere and indirect sunlight through its special technology. Specially built sensors, a processing interface and and an LED that changes indicator colors (Red-Green-Blue), all work in tandem in the pot to make a plant grow indoors. To provide an outdoors-like but subtle atmosphere to the plant, the attached sensors detect the amount of sunlight and temperature. The processing interface computes data related to temperature and sunlight and the LED changes color as per the color code to inform the user about the changed temperature or light conditions. The pot is made up of two layers wherein the internal layer revolves with the help of a motor and the external layer remains stable. The gap between the layers can be adjusted with the keyboard.

The SSRP can be quite useful for those people who are fond of plants but do not have enough space outdoors to grow the plants, or the time to monitor their growth indoors. The only measure to be taken is the correct functioning of the entire mechanism of the pot. If something goes wrong in the mechanism, then it can play with the life of the plant and can become hazardous for the plant.
