This minimalist Lake-side House could well be a beach home

Lake houses have always been thought of as being quintessentially
quaint wooden cabins with very traditional décor full of wooden elements and
plenty of lamps and big couches with hand knit woolen throws on them. A typical
beach house, on the other hand, has been traditionally thought of as being a
minimalistic, angular space with large floor to ceiling windows, all white
interior and plenty of modernist elements.

However, Airscape Architects Studio has decided that the design
of a typical beach house can also be used to make a wonderfully refreshing lake
house and we have got to say that we totally agree with the notion as well.

Located on the outskirts of Tokyo in Japan, the uber
minimalist Lake-side House is essentially a serene home that takes huge cue
from the design of beach homes and uses it to bring the scenic beauty of the outside
indoors as well.

The home is situated pretty might right on the water with the
lake outside it being accessible through the home’s back yard.  A huge mountain serves as the ideal backdrop
for the residence that uses sliding window doors on the rear to allow the spectacular
view to be seen from the living room and the kitchen.

The concrete slab foundation allows the embankment of the lake
to connect the interior to the flooring just outside the house which creates the
sense of it offering a larger floor space.

The interior of the building is all white.

The architects
have not provided shots of the interiors all dressed up but we can totally imagine
the angular interior space being fitted with modular furniture in bright
exciting colors.

We hope the architects and the future inhabitants of the stunning
home share more images of the home with the world once the place is furnished
and dressed up.
