Use vinegar and baking soda

This is one of the easiest and simplest ways to fix your sink when clogged. All you need is to put one cup of baking soda into the drain.  You can make use of spatula to make it go down the drain. After this, pour one cup of vinegar down the drain. Then wait for about 5-10 minutes, following which, pour warm water in to the drain and get it unclogged in seconds.

Use a plunger

Using plunger is another simple way to unclog a drain. You need to fill half of the sink with hot water. Then you need to make use of the plunger and put it over the drain and push it vigorously up and down.  This needs to be done for a minute or two.  Once done, pull out the plunger and you can check if water is freely flowing down the drain.

By removing the drain pipe under the sink

If by any chance the above two methods do not work then you can try another method. You can try removing the drainpipe. You need to put a small bucket under the sink such that it can hold water and other things coming out of the sink. Now you need to remove the rain with the help of a wrench.

After this, you can easily look for any clogs in the pipe and clean it up with any bottlebrush. Now you need to work an auger up and down this drainpipe to make it clear of any other residue.  Now it is all set to go back to its place.  But make sure to run some water down the drainpipe to make it completely clear. Now once the sink and drain is clean, there is no more clogging there.

It is always better to go the route of prevention, rather than that of the cure. You need to keep a few things in mind to avoid the clogs. Avoid throwing food waste down the sink.  Before keeping the used plates in the sink, make sure that its doesn’t have any food or anything that would clog the drain.

Avoid pouring any kind of oil or grease down the drainpipe, as they also clog the drain.  Make use of garbage for throwing all the waste.
