VERTICO Lamp by Jelmer Moorman

VERTICO Lamp

The VERTICO lamp, designed by designer Jelmer Moorman, is a ‘product of nature’, which can work in an efficient manner when placed in different surroundings. Moorman started his project by getting deep inside the working mechanism of his product and ways in which he could control it.

The VERTICO lamp is an innovation which can be used by the owner in his/her own convenient way. The user can make it tall or short according to his/her need. The VERTICO comprises of two different parts – a foot with blades and the lamp itself. The lamp works only when the two parts are joined to each other. The lamp gets its energy supply from the blades. In return, the blades get shaped by placing the lamp in between them. Both the lamp and the blades function simultaneously to work in an efficient manner.

The lamp helps in shaping the blades and the blades help in lighting up the lamp. The lamp can be changed from a smaller size to a bigger size and vice versa by moving the clamp and the lamp up and down. The amount of open light can also be controlled in the same manner with the help of the clamp and the lamp.
