Color Therapy In Laurel Canyon Residence by M. Design Interiors

When one thinks of color therapy in terms of interior
design, the image of stained glass, uber bright walls and furnishings comes
into one’s mind before anything else. However, Molly Luetkemeyer, the founder
of décor firm M. Design Interiors used her extensive knowhow of contemporary
and bohemian style to create a new kind of color therapy inspired look for the
interiors of a Laurel Canyon Residence.

Each room has given a rich and cohesive look by combining
art and pieces of eclectic furniture in a way that allowed the colors of the pieces
shine through without overpowering the look of the whole room.

For the living room, the designer used a glass coffee table
to reflect the colors around it while a large turquoise couch was used as the
focal point. The color of the couch was repeated in the pull down blonds while
the leather stools provided a contrast to the shades of blue.

The other side of the living room was given a plainer look
with all white furniture which was broken up by a bright painting.

The dining area was given hints of color through the brightly
colored cushions on the seats and the additional color was provided by the white
and yellow stripes on the ceiling that add an eclectic touch to the room.

The bathroom was given a coat of bright paint with a dark
background painting and colorful pendant lamps providing a visual relief from the
use of tiles on the floor.

In the bedroom, brightly patterned wallpaper created a sense
of drama even though the furniture and furnishings used in the room are as
basic and somber as they can get and provide the perfect offset to the vivid
and lively wall treatment.
