Maximo has used the distinctive asymmetrical surface by translating it into morph metric data by using advanced software. This makes for the refined natural feel and look of the design although the chair weighs only 160 kg. He has carved out a seat on the half back portion of the elephant’s body, which does not in any way detract from its natural look. He used compressed foam with an internal steel frame for craving the overall structure. The whole ensemble is then covered in fine leather for that wildlife feel. This chair than symbolically represents the welcome extended to an opposing element of nature right into the home. It becomes a throne where the elephant is given an honored position.
