New ideas and innovations in the world of furniture are entering the market for the consumer. With the limited spaces in the homes, designers are keen on making things that are space saving and are flexible at the same time.
A flexi shelf called Chuck
The chuck system has a six shelf flexible arrangement. At the both ends of the wooden shelves are stainless steel ‘sleeves’ to hold them. These shelves are just 4mm in thickness and are quite flexible in nature.
The shelves can be adjusted as per the user’s needs. The six thin planks unite to form a single one when nothing is placed in between them. Natascha Harra-Frischkorn has designed the Chuck shelf system. Objects the size of a book, can be placed in between each of the shelf.
Tipi Modular Shelving System
The inspiration of this modular shelf system could have possibly been from some sort of tribal architecture. The design consists of three neat shelves and two artistic structures incorporated within the system. The designer of the system Assaf Israel got motivation to make a product with multiple features after almost a year touring the world.
The tipi modular shelving system can be used as a wardrobe, study desk, bookshelf or for keeping artifacts. The system is condensed and not much space is required for its installation. Other interesting features of the system are its portability and ease of assembling.
T. Shelf System
The structure of this shelf system appears to be organic as it grows according to your needs. The user can make changes in the storage system as per his needs by shifting the shelves. The T. shelf system is the brainchild of designer Jae Won Cho, who kept in mind triangle as the basis of the design.
Cho claims that the structure can grow ‘indefinitely’ with the requirement of the user. So, if the user is fond of books he won’t have to worry about the storage space for his increasing collection. This shelving system can be kept on the floor or mounted on the wall as per the choice of the user.
The BUILD system
The BUILD system is an innovative design to store books and decorative items at the user’s home or office. As the name suggests the system can be ‘Build’ by the user by arranging the individual blocks of the system. These blocks can be arranged, put together or rearranged in a short time.
The manufacturer claims that the materials used for making the system are recyclable and non-toxic in nature. The system can be placed on the ground or mounted on the wall according to the choice of the user. The blocks may be arranged in various shapes and the system may be expanded or minimized as per the requirement of the user.
The individual blocks can be used as a separate storage unit, a box or even a stool. These serve the purpose of a shelf, a piece of furniture and as a partitioning.
Backpack Modular Shelving System
The nomadic clan will be more than happy to use this shelving system, as it folds and packs easily. The belt straps on the system help in folding, mounting and carrying the system with ease. There are wooden shelves to store books or other items within the adjustable straps. The shelves, six in number are lightweight and hold sufficient amount of books and small articles. Even at home or at office, the modular shelving system can be shifted to different walls at the convenience of the user.
You can get a contemporary flexible shelf for your home or office to fulfill your storage needs with flexible options.
