Drip – An unconventional table lamp to bring out the ‘green’ in you!

Drip table lamp is one of the most unusual creations that truly merge the designer’s imagination and fun with the main concept of its design. The Drip lamp is a beautiful work of art and is presented by Fabio Servolo, an Italian based industrial designer. Fabio’s concept toward Drip lays in its main theme about changing people’s habit of wasting electricity in an irresponsible manner. And Drip embodies the correct message in a natural manner.

Drip Lamp

The Drip lamp actually functions and looks like a water tap. It simply works the way we turn on the tap for availing water. But here, you will avail the radiant light while turning on the tap handle instead of using the same old methodology of switch buttons. You may be imagining how the lamp works? So, the magic lies underneath the stainless metallic steel body wherein, as the knob or switch of the lamp is adjusted, it will reflect out the light brimming with clarity. The whole of the lamp is made out of the leftover industrial materials which are totally recyclable. The lamp head (drop) is made out of matt finish plexiglass and holds LED light that can brim out the rays more efficiently and harmlessly as it’s free from IR/UV components. Moreover, the LED system is said to be more durable as it does not operate on the on and off system. Thus, the drip lamp is totally Eco-friendly in use.

‘Drip’ conceptualizes the change which it gradually brings in the user for using the electricity resources responsibly and efficiently. The designer thinks that as people can’t see their taps left on after use, so why not they try the same mentality when using the electricity. So he designed the drip lamp to put forward a change in user’s attitude towards drawing an end line to the wastage of necessary and scarce resources. The form of the lamp will slowly bring out the change in user while using the lamp. Looking at the tap-themed design of the lamp, the user’s natural mentality will not let him leave the knob/tap left on after its use. Thus, the lamp will lead you toward the greener way and saving electricity with good habits. A simple yet powerful concept, isn’t it? So, why don’t we start being responsible from this very moment?
